Overview

Cecile is a French artist and art teacher, working across drawing, gouache, watercolor, digital art, and collage, always returning to the sketchbook. She studied art years ago, stepped away from it for a time, then came back and explored everything she could get her hands on. She’s taught online since 2019, building dozens of classes for thousands of students worldwide, and increasingly teaches in person through workshops, urban sketching events, and art retreats.

“I don’t want you to make a copy of my page,” she says. Her sketchbook isn’t about recording a place perfectly, it’s about noticing what’s worth remembering. She breaks techniques into manageable steps, but leaves room for wonky lines and unexpected turns, just enough structure to build confidence, and enough freedom to make the work genuinely your own.

She’s kept travel sketchbooks for forty years, and owns more than 150 of them, some finished, some half-filled, some waiting for the right trip. She lives in France, and believes art should be fun, taken seriously without taking yourself too seriously.
