France

France has always made room for art in daily life — in a café, a garden, a Sunday market. Our programs follow that same rhythm. Days move between creative sessions, walking, and the kind of unhurried cultural discovery that makes you feel like a local, not a tourist. Programs span sketchbook, painting, and mixed media, inspiring the travel journal you'll build along the way. Art workshops in France range from the streets of Paris to the coastal towns of the Riviera.

Paris

Programs are based in central Paris, wandering from grand boulevards into quiet side streets and hidden courtyards. Mornings might mean a sketchbook session among the blooms of the Tuileries Garden, or a wander through art supply shops along the Left Bank in search of marbled paper and fine inks. A Rue Cler market picnic on the lawn of the Champs de Mars, a sunset cruise on the Seine, a visit to the Musée d'Orsay — these are the kind of days that fill a Paris journal. The week closes with a farewell dinner in an artist's home studio in Le Marais, cooked by a friend who has called France home for thirty years, journals shared around the table before the last goodbye.

The French Riviera

Programs are based in Antibes, with day trips along the coast to Nice, Cannes, Menton, Villefranche-sur-Mer, and Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat. Colorful harbor towns, palm-lined promenades, and the deep blue of the sea set the scene. A morning market often opens the day, treasure hunting through Antibes's brocante stalls for old postcards and forgotten trinkets, or tasting Niçoise street food through the lanes of Nice's Old Town. Afternoons move onto the coastal sentier paths, and a picnic on the monastery island of Île Saint-Honorat is a highlight of the week. One evening brings an absinthe tasting in an ancient Roman cantina, the same green spirit that fueled Monet, Renoir, and the other Impressionists who once called this coast home.

A Note on Pace

We walk together at a group pace, with some flexibility to adjust the route as the day unfolds. For a full breakdown of pace and fitness expectations, see our Walk Levels page.
