Greece

The blues of Greece are unlike anywhere else in our collection: painted domes, weathered doors, and water that shifts from turquoise to deep indigo with the passing of the day. Our Greek program is a twelve-night journey across the Cyclades — Santorini, Naxos, and Amorgos — connected by ferry, ending with a night in Athens. Between islands, ferries the size of small cruise ships carry the group across open water, part of the adventure rather than a means to it, with space for leisurely art sessions and spontaneous stops built into every itinerary. Programs span sketchbook, painting, and mixed media, inspiring the travel journal you'll build along the way. Art workshops in Greece move at the pace of island time — ferry rides, unhurried meals, and light that lingers long into the evening.

Santorini

The trip opens on Santorini, with a panoramic walk along the caldera and a visit to the ancient ruins of Akrotiri. One morning brings us to Oia early, before the cruise ship crowds arrive. Evening finds the group in Firostefani to watch the sunset spill across the water.

Naxos

Naxos slows the pace further — a countryside walk through ancient villages and groves of olive trees, hillside paths, and whitewashed architecture that seems to glow at midday. The historic center is a labyrinth worth getting lost in, and the island's broad, sandy beaches offer a rare stretch to relax before the next leg of the journey.

Amorgos

Amorgos is a lesser-known island, reached only by ferry, where life slows down and presence comes easily. Walking trails offer views of the bay from a dozen different angles, along with a visit to an essential oil distillery that uses only plants harvested on the island. Days here are spent at a beach-front, family-run hotel, with time to slip into the sea between pages of your travel journal.

Athens

The journey closes with a night in Athens, a bustling, lively city and a change of pace after the islands. It’s a fitting final stop for our art workshops in Greece. The group wanders ancient streets one last time before gathering for a farewell dinner.

A Note on Pace

We walk together at a group pace, with some flexibility to adjust the route as the day unfolds. For a full breakdown of pace and fitness expectations, see our Walk Levels page.
