1. Tour Price Guarantee
Our tour prices do not include airfare. All prices are subject to change without notice due to the unpredictability of currency rates and trip costs. However, your price for the tour you have selected will be locked and guaranteed the moment we receive your final payment. This protects you from any increases due to currency fluctuation. For current tour prices, visit your tour page at thebluewalk.com.
2. Included in the Price of Your Vacation
- Sightseeing and orientation tours by a TBW guide, and local guides when appropriate
- Admissions to sights seen as a group
- Art workshops include a daily art program provided by a designated art teacher
- All breakfasts, welcome and farewell dinners (as determined by TBW)
- Accommodations each night, often in family-run hotels in the historic heart of each city
- All transportation from the first hotel to the last hotel of the tour (does not include optional activities or independent travel during the tour)
- All local guide, driver, and program meal tips
- A welcome gift
3. Not Included in the Price of Your Vacation
- Flights, baggage fees, and airport transfers
- Meals not mentioned in the tour description
- Drinks
- Optional excursions
- Porterage of luggage (see Section 4)
- Travel Protection insurance
- Items of a personal nature
- Any items not specifically mentioned as included in our programs
4. Porterage of Luggage
Luggage handling is not included. With the exception of our vacations that have one hotel location, we recommend you pack light -- chiefly because you will be responsible for carrying your own luggage on and off any combination of trains, ferries, and public transportation. Please limit your bags to what you can comfortably manage by yourself.
5. Itineraries Subject to Change
Travel is full of possibility -- and that can also mean surprises. We need to be flexible enough to take advantage of whatever comes along so we may provide you with the best possible tour. All components of our tours -- including but not limited to specific hotels, tours, visits, guides, art instructors, special guests, or any other inclusions -- are subject to change for any reason. Uncompleted portions of the tour itinerary are not cause for refund.
6. Tour Payments
To reserve a place on a TBW tour you must agree to these Terms and Conditions and provide a deposit of $500 per person for walking vacations or $750 per person for art vacations. These deposits are non-refundable (but may be transferable to another tour -- see Section 10).
We accept MasterCard, Visa, American Express, bank transfers, and personal checks in US dollars drawn on a US bank.
Your final tour payment is due at least 90 days prior to the start of the tour. The due date will be listed on your tour invoice. Missing the final payment deadline may result in removal from the tour. If you sign up for a tour less than 90 days before departure, the entire tour price must be paid and is non-refundable.
7. Late Fees and Failure to Complete Required Information or Payment
Participants are responsible for submitting all required information and completing final payment by the deadlines stated on their invoice. Reminders may be sent as a courtesy; however, participants are fully responsible for knowing and meeting all deadlines regardless of whether a reminder is received.
If required information and/or final payment is not received by the stated due date, a $100 late fee will be automatically added to the participant's balance. All late fees must be paid in full in order for the participant to be included on the tour.
If all outstanding information and/or payment is not received within 7 days of the original due date, TBW reserves the right to cancel the participant's reservation. In such cases, a Travel Credit may be issued in accordance with TBW's cancellation policies and eligibility requirements.
TBW is not responsible for any loss, additional costs, or inability to participate resulting from late submissions, late payments, or cancellation due to non-compliance with these requirements.
8. Returned Payments
If a payment to TBW is returned unpaid for any reason, a $75 returned-item fee per occurrence will be added to the applicable tour balance and must be paid in full prior to tour departure.
9. Tour and Invoice Confirmation
Please review your invoice thoroughly and contact your Travel Agent or TBW immediately if it appears incorrect or incomplete. TBW cannot accept responsibility if we are not notified of inaccuracies within five days of sending the invoice. In the case of billing errors, TBW reserves the right to re-invoice you with correct pricing.
A reservation is not complete and bookings are not confirmed until:
- A completed and signed reservation request form (hard copy or online) stating acceptance of these Terms and Conditions has been received.
- A deposit payment has been received and deposited.
- You have received confirmation letters of the deposit and reservation.
10. Cancellations (Participant)
You may cancel your participation for any reason up to 90 days before the tour departure date. Your non-refundable tour payment, minus a $100 processing fee, will either be transferred to another available tour or issued as a Travel Credit for future use. Any remaining balance will be refunded.
Please note: Cancellations made within 90 days of departure are not eligible for Travel Credit.
Cancellation fees (per person):
- More than 90 days before arrival: Non-refundable deposit may be issued as a Travel Credit or transferred to another tour. Any remaining balance may be refunded, issued as a Travel Credit, or transferred. A $100 processing fee applies in all cases.
- 90-61 days before arrival: 75% cancellation fee applies. Up to 25% of the tour cost may be refunded.
- 60-0 days before arrival: 100% cancellation fee applies. No refunds will be issued.
No refund will be made for any voluntary modifications made by the traveler. Travelers leaving early or not using included services will not be given a cash equivalent or vacation price reduction.
11. Travel Credits
Travel Credits may be applied to any available tour departing within one year of your original tour's departure date. For example, if your cancelled tour was scheduled for May 1, 2026, your credit must be used on a tour departing by May 1, 2027. Credits are valid for one-time use only and will expire if not redeemed within this one-year window. The cost of the new tour will be based on the rate in effect at the time your transfer is confirmed. Travel Credits may only be used by the guest to whom they were originally issued.
12. Cancellation by The Blue Walk
If TBW cancels a tour you have reserved, except in cases of Force Majeure, all payments made for that tour will be refunded in full within 14 days of the cancellation, excluding your deposit. Your deposit will be converted into a Travel Credit valid until December 31 of the year following the originally scheduled tour.
Example: If your tour was scheduled to depart in 2023, your Travel Credit may be applied to any tour departing before December 31, 2024.
Once refunds and credits have been issued, TBW and its representatives are not responsible for any additional costs or fees incurred by participants, including but not limited to airline tickets, travel arrangements, or cancellations not made directly through TBW.
13. Creditable Event
TBW may provide a credit for future travel if one of the following creditable medical or family emergency events requires you to cancel your reservation within 90 days of your tour's start date. It is TBW's sole discretion to determine if your situation qualifies. This policy is not a replacement for Travel Insurance -- we always recommend protecting your travel investment with Trip Cancellation Insurance.
For Credit Request purposes, a traveling partner is defined as someone who shares the same accommodations; a family member is defined as your spouse, step-child, or blood relative in the first degree.
Qualifying events include:
- You, your travel partner, or a family member dies or suffers an unexpected and disabling injury or illness requiring hospitalization or urgent medical care prior to joining the tour.
- You, your travel partner, or family member suffers a certifiable personal disaster (such as a home fire or flood, or being a victim of a serious crime) necessitating a change in travel plans.
- You or your spouse are called into active military service or have leave revoked.
- Loss of employment.
- Documented illness due to coronavirus/COVID-19 may be considered a Creditable Event. Fear of infection or concern regarding virus prevalence in tour locations will not qualify.
14. Credit Request Process
If you need to cancel your tour, notify TBW immediately in writing by email at info@thebluewalk.com or by mail to 374 Lakeview St., Orlando, FL 32804. Cancellations become effective on the date received by TBW.
If you have comprehensive travel insurance, you must first file a claim with your insurance provider before requesting a credit from TBW. TBW will only process your credit request after you have filed a claim and can demonstrate the final insurance payment or settlement.
Required documentation:
- Illness or injury: A letter from your attending physician on letterhead, verifying the specific reason and date of onset.
- Death: A death certificate or obituary.
- Crime, flood, fire, or accident: A copy of a pertinent police, fire department, or investigative report.
- Military service: A letter signed by your superior officer specifying the reason travel may not be commenced.
- Loss of employment: A letter signed by your employer specifying the date of termination, on company letterhead with contact information.
15. Force Majeure
Refunds and compensation payments are not applicable in circumstances beyond TBW's control or a supplier's control. This includes but is not limited to: war or threat of war, epidemic or threat of epidemic, acts of terrorism, civil strife, strikes, natural disaster, fire, adverse weather, or other acts of God. In the event of significant changes due to a supplier problem (e.g., hotel bankruptcy), TBW will advise participants as soon as reasonably possible with available alternatives.
16. Tour Forms, Obligations, and Risks
All trip participants are required to review and accept these Terms and Conditions by signing the trip reservation request form. Omitting important information or altering the Terms and Conditions will render it invalid and could result in expulsion from the tour at your own expense.
17. Participation
Although we want everyone to have a great time, it sometimes happens that someone's behavior is incompatible with the safety, comfort, or convenience of other participants. In those circumstances we have the exclusive right and discretion to expel a participant from a tour at any time, without refund or coverage of any costs or expenses incurred.
18. Participant Expectations
TBW tours are physically active, our hotels are carefully selected but may provide fewer American-style amenities, and our people policy emphasizes NO GROUCHES! On any TBW tour, you assume the following obligations and responsibilities:
- Carry or roll your own luggage for up to 15 minutes over uneven pavement, and in rare cases haul luggage up a few steps or one flight of stairs.
- Be comfortable on your feet with one-hour to half-day walking tours on uneven cobbled streets and rustic paths, climbing stairs, using public transportation, and walking outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Sleep in hotels that may have inadequate air conditioning, possible street noise, and slow or common-area-only Wi-Fi.
- After orientation and transportation lessons, be able to navigate towns and cities independently.
- Understand that tour guides cannot provide physical assistance. Participants requiring help must be accompanied by an able companion who can be entirely responsible for providing that assistance.
- Study and understand the trip conditions as described by the itinerary and tour page at thebluewalk.com.
- Know your own physical, emotional, and medical condition with respect to the advisability of participating in your chosen trip.
- Bring appropriate and adequate clothing, equipment, medications, and first aid supplies.
19. Minors
The minimum age allowed on our public vacations is 18. Younger children may be allowed on private tours. Please contact our booking team for more information.
20. Visas and Passports
You are responsible for obtaining and paying for all visas and entry documents, meeting all health and other requirements, and ensuring you have all documents required by the laws, regulations, and requirements of the countries you will visit. Non-U.S. citizens must consult with the appropriate consulates to determine visa requirements.
TBW is not responsible for providing visa and passport information or documentation, and cannot accept liability for any passenger refused entry onto any transport or into any country due to failure to carry correct documentation. All international passengers must have a valid passport. Some countries require passports to be valid for at least six (6) months beyond the conclusion of your trip and may require a minimum number of blank pages. It is your responsibility to verify all requirements.
21. Safety
You must be aware that during participation in TBW vacations, certain risks and dangers may arise beyond our control, including but not limited to: hazards of traveling in undeveloped areas; travel by various means of transportation; forces of nature; political unrest; epidemics; acts of lawlessness or terrorism; stolen, lost, or misplaced luggage; theft or break-ins; transportation or hotel strikes; and accident or illness in remote regions without rapid evacuation or medical facilities.
TBW will not have liability regarding the provision of medical care or the adequacy of any care rendered. By agreeing to participate in a tour and/or optional excursions, you agree to hold TBW harmless in this regard. Emergency Medical Travel Insurance is required (see Section 22).
You acknowledge that the enjoyment and excitement of adventure travel is derived in part from inherent risks beyond the accepted safety of life at home or work. YOU HEREBY AGREE TO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR OWN WELFARE AND ACCEPT ANY AND ALL RISKS OF DELAY, UNANTICIPATED EVENTS, INCONVENIENCE, ILLNESS, INJURY, EMOTIONAL TRAUMA OR DEATH.
22. Travel Insurance
Due to the physical nature of a walking vacation, TBW requires all participants to carry overseas emergency medical insurance for the duration of their trip. Travel insurance is not included in the tour price. Proof of policy must be submitted to TBW prior to final payment.
If you do not currently have coverage, you are free to choose any travel insurance provider. TBW partners with CSA/Generali and provides a link on our website where you can request a quote. Please refer to our travel insurance webpage for details.
In the event of cancellation prior to or during the tour, travel insurance typically reimburses non-refundable expenses such as tour costs and airfare. Additional benefits may include:
- Trip interruption
- Missed connections
- Lost or delayed baggage
- Emergency medical transportation
- Necessary medical care due to illness or injury
- Emergency evacuation
Please confirm specific coverage details directly with your chosen provider. TBW assumes no responsibility for the accuracy of information provided by insurance companies or the terms of their policies.
Note: Some types of coverage may require purchase within 24 hours of your initial trip deposit. While cancellation insurance is not mandatory, it is strongly recommended.
23. Responsibility
Cruise, Tour, Travel! dba The Blue Walk, located at 374 Lakeview St., Orlando, FL 32804, acts only as an agent for other suppliers -- including but not limited to hotels, trains, buses, ferries, restaurants, and contractors -- who operate as independent contractors and are not agents, employees, servants, or joint ventures of TBW or its affiliates.
TBW does not provide for or act as an agent for any airlines or airfare tickets. TBW is not responsible if an airline cancels, reschedules, or delays a flight for any reason.
All confirmations, tickets, vouchers, and coupons issued by TBW are made under the express condition that TBW shall not be liable for any loss, injury, accident, delay, irregularity, inconvenience, or damage to participants from any cause, including but not limited to: defects in vehicles, equipment breakdown, strikes, theft, acts of God, weather, civil disturbances, terrorism, or changes in itineraries.
In the event there is liability on the part of TBW, you specifically agree that TBW's maximum liability under any circumstances is limited to two times the amount of the reservation. Any litigation must be brought to the courts of TBW's office in Orlando, Orange County, Florida.
24. Optional Excursions & Activities
Optional activities and excursions available in the vacation area are not run, supervised, or controlled in any way by TBW. These services are provided by local operators or other third parties that are entirely independent of TBW. Such activities do not form any part of the product or services sold to you by TBW, even where TBW suggests particular operators or assists you in booking.
Your contract for any optional activity or excursion will be with the organizer or operator of that activity, subject to their own Terms and Conditions. TBW has no liability for any such activity or for any act or omission of the organizer or operator. Vacation participants are asked to check with the operator and review applicable Terms and Conditions before booking.
25. Privacy
All information provided in a booking will be kept confidential. It will not be disclosed or sold to other companies for any purpose beyond what is needed to secure your travel arrangements with our suppliers. Mailing information and past travel information will be retained by us. You may receive periodic mailings or emailings from us. You may explicitly ask to be removed from such mailings at any time by email.
26. Photographs, Images, Video
Any photographs, digital images, or video (Imagery) that you send, or that are taken by our guides, are deemed to be our property and available for use in promotions without compensation to you. Imagery appearing on our website, in social media, or in any other promotion is used solely as an indication of accommodations and attractions. Actual facilities may vary.
27. Fitness
It is your responsibility to know your own physical and medical condition with respect to the advisability of participating in your chosen trip. We suggest you prepare by doing some longer walks prior to arrival. As with any exercise program, we recommend you consult with your physician prior to your arrival regarding the suitability of a walking tour. By completing this booking, you affirm that you are in good health and capable of engaging in the activity you are booking.
