Overview
Join us for a seven-night collage journey through Sicily with teaching artist Cecile Yadro, two nights in Palermo, then five nights in the Baroque hilltop town of Ragusa Ibla. Days move by private minibus and on foot between historic markets, an ancient Roman villa, chocolate-making traditions in Modica, and olive groves in the Sicilian countryside.
Cecile turns each day’s textures, colors, and impressions into layered collage pages, a personal record of Sicily built from what the island actually hands you. By the end of the week, your journal holds Sicily in paper, color, and texture, one page at a time.
The Creative Experience
This is a collage travel journal program, worked both on-location and in common areas back at the hotel. Along the way, you’ll collect ephemera and impressions: market receipts, pressed leaves, ticket stubs, whatever catches your eye. During each class Cecile shares techniques and guidance for weaving them into your own, entirely unique travel journal. By the end of the week, your journal reflects both your own creative growth and the layered history of the island.

About YourArtist-Teacher
Cecile Yadro
Cecile is a French artist and art teacher, working across drawing, gouache, watercolor, digital art, and collage, always returning to the sketchbook. She studied art years ago, stepped away from it for a time, then came back and explored everything she could get her hands on. She’s taught online since 2019, building dozens of classes for thousands of students worldwide, and increasingly teaches in person through workshops, urban sketching events, and art retreats.
“I don’t want you to make a copy of my page,” she says. Her sketchbook isn’t about recording a place perfectly, it’s about noticing what’s worth remembering. She breaks techniques into manageable steps, but leaves room for wonky lines and unexpected turns, just enough structure to build confidence, and enough freedom to make the work genuinely your own.

Traveled, Created, Loved It
“Spain was our second walking vacation with The Blue Walk, and it was delightful. Suzy and Jeannette are very organized, knowledgeable and friendly. They guided us for an overview of old Barcelona, and then onto Callela de Pallafrugel, the most beautiful fishing village. We walked along the coast and through farming areas to two medieval towns. Suzy and Jeannette are excellent tour guides, and we will join the Blue Walk again soon.”
Jackie and Mark Curley“They are INCREDIBLE!!! I’ve loved everything we’ve done together! An art journal workshop and a private tour with friends I met on the Art Walk & everything has been better and more fun than I ever dreamed! 5 Stars is only a beginning of how great they are!”
