Also, you will learn to observe the rhythms of the day and find subjects that have meaning and tell a story. What is a Photography Workshop in Greece like?
Experience a photo trip like no other. Immerse yourself in landscapes and culture, and learn to capture it all in your photos. Equal parts a photography program and discovery you will learn as you travel.
Imagine visiting the beautiful Greek islands with Jeff Hirsch giving photo classes and an insider-guide leading the way. As you go, your collection of photos will tell a story of your unique journey. With our custom itineraries, you will experience the best Greece has to offer. Our About page will tell you more about what makes our vacations unique. Also, we have a Walk Levels page to let you know what our walks are like.
We invite you to join us for our first night in Athens a vibrant, complex city. A mix of the ancient and modern, it offers famous ruins, dynamic urban art, and a lively cafe culture.
Then unwind for six nights at our 5-star resort in Amorgos, a remote and little-visited gem of an island. A favorite of the Greeks, few US travelers know of it. Here, our photography workshop in Greece is like stepping back in time with miles of coastal paths, charming small towns, and heartfelt hospitality.
Enjoy the famous beaches or the quiet countrysides during our time on Naxos. The interior of the island reveals rolling olive tree lined paths that pass through undisturbed rural villages. It’s harbor boasts a lovely historic center filled with artisan shops and restaurants featuring organic produce grown fresh on the island.
Finally we arrive to Santorini. If snow white buildings topped with blue domes cresting cliffs that rise out of a cerculean blue sea is your idea of Greece, this is the destination for you. A bucket-list destination for many travelers, we will show you the best of Santorini with off the beaten path locations for shooting.
Our small group will walk sleepy country roads, breathtaking coastal paths, and whitewashed village streets. We will visit out of the way destinations, meet wonderful people, and take in beautiful views. Return home from your photography workshop in Greece with new skills and a travel journal that captures your experience perfectly.

Gather at our hotel for a meet and greet. After we will set out for an orientation walk of the Plaka neighborhood and a viewing of Athens’ famous changing of the guard.
Our morning walk takes us to the foot of the Acropolis. Opt for a private guided tour or follow your own path of discovery. There will be time during the day to explore and shoot on your own. In the afternoon, we will board a ferry and watch the sun set over the Aegean as we sail to our first island.
A day to relax and fully enjoy our beautiful resort and spa. After a leisurely morning with a tour of the grounds, we will take a stroll along the beach and into the harbor village of Aegiali. The day ends with a welcome feast of traditional Greek specialties.
We climb the steps to a 12th century monastery built into a cliff high above the sea. The views are literally breathtaking! Afterward we will explore the winding alleys, colorful doorways, and traditional cafes in the island capital of Chora.
The village of Tholaria offers beautiful views to Aegiali Bay. We will walk through the terraced farmland to a small chapel perched above the sea. An optional cooking class shares the tastes and traditions of the Greek kitchen handed down through generations.
In the village of Langada we will visit a herbal distillery that produces essential oils made only from plants found on the island. Afterward, the walk back to our resort follows the ancient path that once was the island’s main thoroughfare.
An easy morning stroll along the sea offers scenic views – and lots of goats! On our way back to the hotel we may take a break at one of our favorite spots to capture the many shades of blue found all around.
A morning ferry brings us to the island of Naxos. After checking into our hotel the day is free to explore Naxos’ historic old town or enjoy its famous beaches. Guests may enjoy an optional horseback ride along the coastal dunes and sandy beach.
At the verdant green center of the island, the village of Halki is charming all on it’s own. Our walk through the surrounding countryside wanders through ancient olive groves and sleepy villages.
