Paris is a city made for walking. The best way to get to know its culture, art, and cuisine is by exploring on foot, one block at a time. Everyday we will explore a new neighborhood. Our walking vacation in Paris will discover the sites, character and culture that make this city so wonderfully unique.

Paris is filled with beautiful and interesting walks. Narrow streets lined with boutiques and boulangeries open onto sidewalk cafes that invite you to sit and watch the world go by. Beautiful boulevards are punctuated by historic monuments and stately architecture. Enticing window displays beckon you to enter. You will rub shoulders with the Parisians and get to know Paris in a whole new way.

What to Expect

Walking Vacation in Paris, France

Discover Paris with a small group of friendly travelers. Each day will include a half day walking tour through the neighborhoods of Paris. Together we will visit historic sites, city parks, boutique shops, and family-owned eateries. Along the way, you will experience some of our favorite things, including the Musée d’Orsay, Sainte Chapelle, and a Seine river cruise at sunset.

.
We will use the city metro or bus to speed us along when the walk may be a bit too far.  Most afternoons are free to explore on your own or with fellow travelers.

.
Daily, our walking vacation in Paris will enjoy urban strolls along sidewalks, cobbled streets, and through city parks. Plan to be on your feet for about 2-3 hours at a time. This is not a bus tour with a packed, by-the-minute itinerary. We will go at a leisurely pace to take in our surroundings and stop often for photos. Of course we will take a break if we find something particularly delicious to sample.

.
Our walking vacations understand little luxuries are also an important part of the travel experience. Our select, centrally-located hotel will welcome you home after a day of exploring. Even better, you’ll spend 6 nights at one location. You can unpack and get comfortable.

Important Notes

Solo travelers and single supplements

For our guests who are traveling solo... We offer a single supplement for an additional fee if you wish to guarantee a private room.

If you do not request a private room, you may share a twin room with another trip participant of the same sex (Roomshare). When you sign up, if no Roomshare is available, a 50% single supplement will be due at final payment. However, if a roommate is found before your trip departs, you will be matched and the single supplement will be refunded.

Please note that a single supplement guarantees a private room. Whenever possible singles will be placed in the same room type as our double or twin rooms.

Twin / Double Rooms

Please be aware twin beds in Europe may have very little or no space between beds. Also, instead of a king or queen mattress, double beds are often adjoining twin mattresses secured together and made with double bedding.

Fitness

We provide a general description of our walks. It is your responsibility to know your own physical and medical condition with respect to the advisability of participating in a chosen trip. We suggest you prepare by doing some longer walks and (working up to) doing 1 hour of walking comfortably. Ideally, include walks with elevation change and stairs. (There are always stairs.)

As with any exercise program, we recommend you consult with your physician prior to your arrival regarding the suitability of a walking tour.

Many find walking sticks helpful on steep or uneven terrain. Before using them on a vacation, we strongly advise you be comfortable using walking sticks on familiar paths.
